Full description

The Product Management Manager is responsible for leading the planning, development and management of AI products and services within the firm. This role is focused on vended AI platforms, including general-purpose AI assistants, legal research tools, and specialized AI applications. This role involves overseeing the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing management of these platforms, ensuring they meet internal needs and deliver high value to the firm. This role blends expertise in artificial intelligence, product management, and application ownership to drive successful adoption and governance of AI tools. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, including legal stakeholders, engineering, IT, and knowledge management, to ensure AI solutions are well-integrated and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the business owner for vended AI platforms and tools, overseeing their implementation, ongoing maintenance, and alignment with firm needs and policies.
  • Manage user access, roles, and permissions within vended AI tools, ensuring controls are appropriately configured and maintained in accordance with firm governance standards.
  • Partner with IT to coordinate the rollout, integration, and ongoing support of vended AI solutions, serving as the primary business point of contact for vendor relationships and technical deployments.
  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for AI-powered solutions in alignment with the firm’s goals.
  • Stay abreast of AI trends, customer feedback, and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI tools across the firm’s application and product portfolio.
  • departmental collaboration to ensure the successful execution of AI initiatives.
  • Define and prioritize product features based on customer needs, market research, and technical feasibility.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback on AI solutions.
  • Ensure that AI-driven products address real-world problems and provide measurable value.
  • Implement and uphold responsible AI development practices to ensure ethical, transparent, and fair usage of AI technologies.

Education and/or Experience: 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or product ownership
  • Experience with agile methodologies and product management tools
  • Experience owning and administrating technology platforms
  • Experience with vendor evaluations
  • Experience developing and delivering training or enablement materials

Preferred:

  • Experience owning and administrating generative AI platforms

The target salary range for this role is:

$122,900 - $169,000 if located in Illinois.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
