About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a core contributor to the systems and infrastructure that power data across ServiceTitan. You'll work on ingestion frameworks, pipeline reliability, data quality tooling, and platform capabilities that engineering and analytics teams depend on. This is a technically deep role for an engineer who takes pride in building things the right way and wants ownership over meaningful infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Build and operate data ingestion and transformation pipelines across real-time and batch workloads
- Implement scalable solutions for onboarding new data sources and evolving existing integrations
- Contribute to the design of data platform components — storage, compute, and pipeline layers
- Develop tooling for monitoring, alerting, and data quality measurement with a focus on automation and self-service
- Diagnose and resolve production issues with a bias toward systemic fixes over workarounds
- Participate in on-call rotation — triage incidents, own resolution end-to-end, and close the loop with post-incident improvements
- Build and use AI-powered agents to automate repetitive engineering and operational tasks — triage, monitoring, pipeline debugging, and support workflows
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in software or data engineering roles in production, high-traffic environments
- Hands-on experience building batch and real-time data pipelines
- Working knowledge of distributed systems principles: reliability, scalability, fault tolerance
- Strong ownership mindset — you follow through on what you build and operate it well
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
- Experience with Spark Structured Streaming and open table formats — Apache Iceberg or similar (Delta Lake, Hudi)
- Experience with cloud data warehouses — Snowflake strongly preferred
- Experience with workflow orchestration — Airflow or similar
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Ability to build and use AI agents for engineering and operational tasks — from automating runbooks to building support triage tools
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with CDC patterns and tooling (Debezium or similar)
- Familiarity with DBT or transformation frameworks
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Flink, Pinot, etc.)
- Prior use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.) or LLM-based agent frameworks (LangChain, Claude, etc.)
