About the Role

We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team building scalable, cloud-native backend solutions.

This is a highly technical Individual Contributor (IC) role focused on backend development, solution design, and system architecture. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend services while contributing to the architecture of modern cloud-native applications.

Working closely with product managers, frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and other technical stakeholders, you will help deliver secure, scalable, and reliable software using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs.
  • Develop microservices-based backend solutions following engineering best practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Participate in backend architecture and technical solution design.
  • Design scalable and reliable enterprise backend systems.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, architecture reviews, and solution improvements.
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.

Cloud Development

  • Develop and support applications running in AWS cloud environments.
  • Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and related cloud technologies.
  • Support cloud-native application development and deployment.

API Development & Integration

  • Design, develop, test, and integrate RESTful APIs.
  • Ensure API security, versioning, performance, and scalability.
  • Support integration between multiple enterprise systems.

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve application stability.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Owners, QA, Frontend, and DevOps teams.
  • Participate in Agile software development activities.
  • Follow engineering standards for code quality, security, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development.
  • Excellent Core Java programming skills.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Experience with backend architecture and solution design.
  • Strong coding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services.
  • Azure Web Services exposure
  • Working knowledge of Groovy for scripting and automation.
  • Experience using Git for source code management.
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architecture and scalable backend systems.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
