Project / Implementation Manager

Location: Springfield, VA (Preferred) or St. Louis, MO Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project / Implementation Manager to lead the execution of mission-critical IT projects in a government environment. In this role, you will manage an assigned portfolio of IT projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and technical performance requirements.

You will work closely with engineering, development, operations, customer stakeholders, vendors, subcontractors, and other technical teams to resolve challenges, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex IT projects and systems engineering initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, developers, operations personnel, and other technical resources.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, milestones, resources, and invoicing inputs.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, technical bottlenecks, and potential roadblocks.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between technical teams and customer stakeholders.
  • Lead Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) and participate in program reviews and customer briefings.
  • Coordinate project deliverables and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, government agencies, and internal teams.
  • Monitor evolving customer requirements and identify opportunities to support program growth.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies and industry developments.
  • Evaluate future project requirements and develop strategies to support upcoming work.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 5+ years of project management experience within a government and/or IT environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical projects, schedules, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams in a matrixed environment.

Work Location

Position is located at the customer site in Springfield, VA (preferred), or St. Louis, MO.
