Konsultuppdrag | Senior Database Engineer

Location: Stockholm Work Model: Hybrid — 2 days per week onsite in Central Stockholm Start Date: Mid‑September Duration: 6 months, with a very strong potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and actively contribute to the end-to-end migration of Oracle database services to PostgreSQL, ensuring stability and continuity for platform operations. - Translate application and service requirements into effective database designs, acting as a bridge between development teams and database engineering. - Review and validate schemas, configurations, and application-level database interactions to ensure correctness, performance, and compatibility throughout the migration. - Identify gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities across the migration pipeline. - Produce clear documentation, including migration learnings, best practices, and repeatable processes for future database modernization initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Extensive hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or PostgreSQL-focused developer. - Strong understanding of Oracle database concepts, including datatype mappings and migration considerations. - Ability to work autonomously within an established migration framework and deliver high-quality outcomes. - Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering and database teams. - Familiarity with Liquibase or similar tools for schema versioning and database change management.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Experience with Java applications interacting with PostgreSQL. - Exposure to distributed systems or event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Solace). - Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude agents). - Experience migrating high-traffic, low-downtime services.
