Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As an Assistant Manager in Process Engineering at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will take a pivotal role in ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing processes for tractor production. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Establishing robust quality assurance frameworks by integrating techniques such as PFMEA, mistake proofing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to uphold and improve product reliability and first-time right (FTR) metrics.
- Leading root cause analysis initiatives and driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve complex chronic and critical quality issues, enhancing the overall defect containment efficiency and end-to-end resolution (ETR and DCE).
- Planning process modifications related to both existing product re-engineering (CRE) and new product production ramp-up, ensuring seamless transition to mass manufacturing while maintaining process integrity.
- Formulating and managing capital expenditure budgets focused on enhancing production quality, cost, delivery, and safety (PQCDS) through the selection and deployment of appropriate technologies and equipment upgrades.
- Overseeing the complete lifecycle of capital projects from need justification, through installation and commissioning, to measurement of operational performance (MOP) achievement, ensuring projects deliver intended benefits and adhere to timelines.
- Driving productivity improvements by optimizing manpower allocation, increasing manufacturing capacity, and implementing lean practices to reduce waste and enhance operational throughput.
- Championing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment reliability, availability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), contributing to sustained manufacturing excellence.
- Facilitating innovations and continuous improvement activities across the shop floor, soliciting and implementing ideas that improve quality, reduce costs, or shorten lead times.
- Ensuring strict adherence to Total Quality Management (TQM) principles, including compliance with key quality system requirements such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), process mapping, control plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Leading cost-saving projects through process optimization, resource efficiency, and technology application, delivering measurable financial benefits without compromising quality or safety standards.
