Associate Solutions Engineer
Job Description
Digital Process acts as an internal delivery and enablement partner, working with teams across the business to understand their processes, shape opportunities, design solutions and deliver workflow, automation and orchestration capabilities. The team helps translate business strategy, operational challenges and process improvement opportunities into practical digital products. Ultimately, we aim to enable the business to grow profitably through scalable capabilities.
About you We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems and wants to build a career in digital transformation, process improvement and digital products delivery.
You do not need previous experience with workflow or automation platforms or software development. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, willingness to learn and an interest in understanding how businesses operate and how technology can improve outcomes.
As a Digital Process Associate, you will work alongside experienced engineers, analysts and delivery professionals, helping to design, build, test and support workflow and automation solutions. You will gain exposure to business analysis, process mapping, low-code development, automation technologies and solution delivery.
Over time, you will be supported to develop expertise across workflow, automation, orchestration and digital product delivery.
Core Responsibilities:
Delivery Support:
- Support the design, development and testing of digital process solutions.
- Assist with business process analysis, requirements gathering and documenting current and future state processes.
- Participate in workshops with business stakeholders to understand challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Help configure, test and document workflow and automation solutions.
- Support solution rollouts, user training and adoption activities.
- Learn and apply software development, testing and delivery best practices.
Solution Shaping:
- Help translate business requirements into practical digital solutions.
- Support process mapping, data gathering and analysis activities.
- Assist in measuring solution effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with members of the Digital Process team and business stakeholders across the organisation.
- Participate in team agile ceremonies, workshops and project activities.
- Share ideas and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop your knowledge of workflow, automation and emerging technologies.
Professional Development:
- Participate in structured learning and development activities.
- Build knowledge of workflow platforms principally Appian and automation technologies used by the business.
- Develop skills in business analysis, process design, solution delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- Work towards relevant certifications and professional development goals where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Strong interest in technology, process improvement or digital transformation.
- Interest in AI, automation, workflow or digital products.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of work.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Positive, curious and proactive mindset.
- Degree, apprenticeship, internship or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Desirable
- Numerate background.
- Awareness of low-code platforms, workflow tools or automation technologies.
- Coding experience and understanding of best practices.
- Understanding of data analysis, reporting or databases.
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
- Understanding of insurance, reinsurance and financial services products, services and markets.
