About the opportunity Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Structural Engineering is the functional owner and senior technical authority for Supaloc's national engineering function. This role is responsible for setting and executing the engineering strategy, leading technical governance, driving innovation and developing high-performing engineering teams to support business growth across NEX Building Group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting and executing the national engineering strategy and functional roadmap
  • Providing technical leadership across design governance, compliance, certification and engineering risk management
  • Leading product development, research, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Managing engineering budgets, investment planning and business cases
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators and internal stakeholders Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing national engineering team
  • Acting as the senior technical authority for the Supaloc product portfolio and associated engineering systems

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
  • Extensive structural engineering experience within construction, manufacturing or building systems environments
  • Proven experience leading engineering functions, teams and complex technical programs
  • Strong expertise in design governance, compliance, certification and engineering risk management
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, business cases and supplier relationships
  • Chartered Professional Engineer status (or eligibility to obtain) and membership with Engineers Australia
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
