Blue Projects’ Project Delivery & Engineering team is looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Hungary, near Budapest.

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager for a 1-year determined contract, on-site role in Hungary, near Budapest, to manage industrial project delivery across budget, planning and technical challenges while building productive relationships with the client team and subcontractors.

Role Overview

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will work within the Project Management Department and take ownership of project budgets, planning activities and technical coordination. This is a 1-year determined contract. The role requires full-time presence on site, with no hybrid work arrangement, and includes leading project interactions with clients, contractors and subcontractors to support safe and timely delivery.

Job Description

  • Work with the project team to define the project specifications.
  • Support contract negotiations with external vendors.
  • Assist with obtaining permits and licenses from the relevant authorities.
  • Identify the manpower, equipment and materials needed from project start to finish, while considering budget limits.
  • Support the planning of operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet project deadlines.
  • Manage team members and assign responsibilities clearly.
  • Lead the project team and coordinate interactions with clients and contractors.
  • Monitor progress and prepare detailed project reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and report any issues.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a construction project manager, with a focus on industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction procedures, materials and project management principles.
  • Knowledge of the food industry, manufacturing and packaging processes, layouts and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality, health and safety standards.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent command of Hungarian and English.
  • Familiarity with construction or project management software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Team player with leadership abilities.
  • BSc or BA in engineering, building science or a relevant field.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Available to work 100% on site in Hungary, near Budapest, with no hybrid work arrangement.
  • Available for a 1-year determined contract.
  • Available for business trips or relocation for project purposes.
