Senior Software Engineer with React

Who we are

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer with React. The ideal candidate leads the development of frontend capabilities for the Next Best Action platform, leveraging React and TypeScript to build high-quality, maintainable user experiences. This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical expertise, stakeholder management, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Technology Stack: React, TypeScript, Redux, and Tailwind CSS for modern frontend development; Storybook for reusable component design and documentation; Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Cucumber for automated testing and quality assurance; GitLab CI, Docker, feature flagging, and client-side observability tools for deployment, operations, and monitoring.

What you'll be doing

• Design, build, and maintain production features using React and TypeScript

• Translate complex decisioning, pricing, eligibility, experimentation, and content requirements into clear and efficient user workflows

• Own frontend work from discovery and technical design through implementation, testing, controlled release, production support, and iteration

• Build data-heavy interfaces including complex forms, tables, filters, query builders, visualisations, configuration editors, and drag-and-drop interactions

• Integrate versioned REST APIs and implement robust approaches to caching, invalidation, loading states, validation, and error handling

• Protect important journeys with proportionate unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests

• Use feature flags and telemetry to release safely and diagnose production issues

• Improve frontend performance, resilience, maintainability, developer feedback loops, and reusable interaction patterns

• Review code, contribute to frontend design decisions, mentor colleagues, and uphold agreed engineering standards

• Work directly with client stakeholders and delivery partners as requirements evolve, explaining frontend trade-offs and adapting scope without compromising usability, accessibility, or engineering quality

What you'll bring along

• Bachelor’s degree in Informatics/ or similar field of study/or equivalent working experience is required

• 6+ years of IT experience with significant experience in React, 10 years overall

• Substantial professional experience delivering production React applications with TypeScript

• Experience building complex, data-rich business applications rather than primarily content or marketing websites

• Strong knowledge of component design, hooks, routing, client and server state management, asynchronous data flows, and REST API integration

• Experience delivering complex forms and workflows with robust validation, error handling, and clear user feedback

• Practical experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end frontend testing

• Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals, including evidence of responsive and accessible interface delivery

• Evidence of independently owning substantial frontend work from design through production within a large or established codebase

• Experience contributing to technical decisions, code reviews, reliable CI/CD delivery, and the development of other engineers

• Evidence of client-facing delivery in demanding or ambiguous environments, including explaining frontend trade-offs, responding to changing requirements, and setting realistic expectations

• Redux or another mature approach to client and server state management

• Playwright, Cypress, or comparable end-to-end browser automation; Jest, Vitest, or comparable unit-testing tools

• Complex enterprise applications built with Angular or Vue can support the assessment, although strong recent React experience remains important for this role

• Experience in regulated, audited, workflow-heavy, or configuration-led products where correctness and safe release are important
