Full description

At Dextall, we don’t just build – we revolutionize. Our mission is to transform how commercial building exteriors are designed and constructed across the United States by blending cutting-edge technology with sustainable innovation.

Build the team. Build the system. Automate what shouldn't be manual. DEXTALL is creating a brand-new role: Head of BIM Engineering. We are looking for someone who sees BIM as much more than modelling in Revit. Someone who can look at an engineering workflow and ask: How can we make this smarter, faster, more consistent — and scalable? This is a leadership role first and a technical role second. You will lead our BIM Engineering team not only tasks, think in systems, already have automation mindset, operate autonomously, bring proposals, not only problems, can think beyond today's project, help build what comes NEXT. Your success will not be measured by how many models you personally create or check. It will be measured by how effectively your team and the systems you build perform.

What will you own? Lead and grow the BIM Engineering team: Set individual and team goals and hold people accountable for results. Run regular 1:1s and performance reviews. Identify competency gaps and create development paths. Develop senior engineers and future team leads. Participate in hiring, onboarding and probation decisions. Address underperformance early and constructively. Coordination of our outrsource team.

Define where our BIM & Revit workflow goes next: You won't simply inherit a workflow and maintain it. You will own its direction. Together with the Head of R&D and Design and other teams, you will define where DEXTALL's Revit workflow needs to be in 1, 2 and 3 years — and build the roadmap to get us there. You will make sure our BIM workflow connects effectively with R&D, design management, automation, production engineering and manufacturing needs.

Build quality into the system: We don't want quality to depend on one experienced person checking everything manually. Your job will be to build systems that make quality repeatable and scalable. Think: standards → templates → families → shared parameters → naming conventions → model health checks → review gates → clear documentation. When errors repeat, you won't just fix the model. You'll ask why the process allowed the error to happen — and improve the process, tool or training behind it.

Automate what shouldn't be done manually: This is a major part of the role. You will actively identify repetitive engineering work and find ways to eliminate it through AI, Dynamo, scripting, Revit add-ins, low-code tools and other automation solutions. You don't need to be a professional software developer. You do need the mindset to look at repetitive work and think: "Why are we still doing this manually?" You will build or commission internal tools, drive their adoption and measure the actual impact in hours saved, errors reduced and engineering capacity created.

Plan for scale: DEXTALL is growing, but we don't believe every increase in project volume should require the same increase in headcount. You will plan BIM Engineering capacity across parallel projects, balance delivery with improvement work and continuously look for ways to increase project volume delivered per engineer. The ambition is simple: a stronger system enables a stable team to deliver more.
