Senior React Native Engineer with Node.js - Tieto Tech Consulting (m/f/d)

Tieto Tech Consulting’s team in Bulgaria consists of 500+ professionals specializing in the development of tailored digital solutions in diverse industries. 

We are looking to hire a Senior React Native Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the development of high-quality mobile applications for an AI-based healthcare platform that supports the optimization of clinical trials and improves the patient experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about delivering impactful, meaningful solutions. 

This role is based on a hybrid work model, with 3 days per week in our Sofia office.

 

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable mobile applications using React Native   

• Design and implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces with a strong focus on performance, usability, and accessibility  

• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver end-to-end features aligned with business requirements  

• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Node.js to support mobile functionality  

• Implement and manage state using Redux and Redux Toolkit for scalable and predictable data flow  

• Apply modern JavaScript (ES6+) and clean architecture principles to build maintainable and reusable codebases  

• Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and stability across devices and network conditions  

• Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices  

• Debug and resolve production issues to maintain application reliability  

• Stay updated with emerging trends and best practices in React Native and mobile development 

• Use agentic coding practices to develop and debug issues. 

• Develop features for platforms that allow patients to measure and track their health status and read data from medical devices. 

 

Required experience & qualifications 

• 5+ years of professional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript development  

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building mobile applications with React Native  

• Strong experience with Node.js and developing scalable backend services and RESTful APIs  

• Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript best practices  

• Proven expertise in state management using Redux and Redux Toolkit  

• Experience designing, integrating, and consuming RESTful APIs  

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and mobile app deployment processes (App Store and Google Play)  

• Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail  

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams 

• Excellent spoken and written English language skills    

 

A significant advantage would be 

• Experience integrating Bluetooth technologies (e.g., BLE devices, wearable tech) into mobile applications  

• Familiarity with native module development and bridging between React Native and native iOS/Android code  

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices  

• Experience with analytics, crash reporting, and monitoring tools (e.g., Firebase, Sentry)  

• Familiarity with Node.js frameworks such as Express or NestJS for building scalable backend services
