Full description
At belo we are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Security team.
We create simple financial products so that people can focus on what really matters to them. Our company is built by industry experts and passionate entrepreneurs who are convinced that, in order to create and preserve value for both current and future generations, it is crucial that everyone around the world has access to the best and simplest financial services.
Our platform handles real money, real assets, and real people — which means security isn't a checkbox, it's a foundation. We need a sharp, hands-on analyst to help us monitor our environment, respond to threats fast, and keep our cloud infrastructure resilient.
If you thrive in high-stakes environments and want to protect a product that genuinely matters to millions of people, this is your place.
What You'll Do
- Monitor security events and alerts across our infrastructure and applications, triaging and escalating incidents with speed and precision
- Lead and coordinate incident response efforts: from initial detection and containment through root cause analysis, remediation, and post-mortem documentation
- Perform digital forensics on affected systems, logs, and artifacts to understand attacker behavior, scope of compromise, and entry vectors
- Operate and continuously improve our SOC capabilities — tuning detection rules, reducing false positives, and building runbooks that make the team faster and sharper over time
- Assess and monitor the security posture of our cloud environments (primarily AWS), identifying misconfigurations, excessive permissions, and exposure risks before they become incidents
- Work with engineering teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, container workloads, and infrastructure-as-code
- Stay current on threat intelligence relevant to fintech, crypto, and LatAm — translating external signals into actionable internal improvements
- Collaborate with the Technology and Compliance teams to support audits, vulnerability management, and security policy enforcement
What We're Looking For
Must have:
- 5+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or a related role
- Strong security fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms and log analysis
- Solid understanding of incident response lifecycle: detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned
- Experience performing digital forensics on Linux and/or cloud-native environments
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls, VPNs)
- Familiarity with cloud security in AWS (CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, IAM, VPCs)
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar for automating analysis and response tasks
- Ability to communicate security risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to have:
- Experience in fintech, crypto, or regulated financial environments
- Experience with container and Kubernetes security
- Knowledge of blockchain security patterns or crypto custody risks
What We Offer
- The opportunity to build and mature security operations at a fast-growing fintech platform with real impact
- A role at the intersection of security engineering and operations — no siloed analyst work
- A passionate team focused on innovation, transparency, and impact
- Competitive compensation in USDT
- Six weeks of vacation
- Flexible hours
- A MacBook and an annual budget to invest in your professional development
- Mostly remote, with at least one day a week at our Buenos Aires office
- A vibrant startup culture with flexibility, autonomy, and a results-oriented approach
At belo, we're redefining financial services for LatAm and beyond. Join us to protect the tools people need to thrive in the modern economy.
