Full description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a UX Designer based in India.
Join a small, high-ownership design team shaping how people discover and shop through AI-powered experiences on connected TVs. You will own user experiences end to end, from understanding the underlying problem to delivering polished, production-ready solutions. The role combines user-centered thinking, interaction design, visual craft, prototyping, and close collaboration with product and engineering teams. You will tackle a relatively unexplored design space where traditional mobile patterns cannot simply be transferred to the living room. Your work will influence how commerce, discovery, and AI come together on large screens and remote-driven interfaces. This is an opportunity to work in an ambitious environment where designers have meaningful ownership and are expected to bring both creativity and strong product judgment.
\n
Accountabilities:
- Understand user needs and product objectives before beginning design work, challenging assumptions and clarifying the underlying problem to be solved.
- Explore multiple design directions, communicate the reasoning behind different approaches, and make informed decisions based on user needs, product goals, and technical considerations.
- Design complete end-to-end experiences rather than isolated screens, accounting for loading, empty, error, first-use, offline, and other important states.
- Create polished user interfaces within an established design system, extending existing patterns thoughtfully when new interaction requirements arise.
- Prototype interactions when static designs are insufficient, particularly for motion, navigation, focus behavior, and remote-driven interactions on connected TV experiences.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers throughout development, maintaining design quality from initial concept through implementation and launch.
- Present design rationale clearly through the most effective artifacts, including user flows, prototypes, comparisons, and other visual or interactive explorations.
- Participate actively in design critiques, provide constructive feedback, collaborate with peers, and contribute to a supportive and high-performing design culture.
- Take ownership of edge cases and interaction details that can significantly affect the usability and quality of large-screen experiences.
- Help explore emerging opportunities for AI as a design material and contribute to new interaction paradigms for AI-powered consumer products.
Requirements:
- Approximately 2–4 years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products, with shipped work that demonstrates your ability to take designs from concept through production.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates design thinking and decision-making, including the alternatives considered, trade-offs made, and lessons learned—not just polished final screens.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills, with high standards for craft and the judgment to know when additional refinement adds value.
- Experience designing complete user journeys and accounting for complex interaction states, rather than focusing exclusively on happy-path experiences.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and define problems when requirements are not fully specified.
- Ability to collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and incorporate constructive feedback.
- Curiosity about AI and an interest in exploring AI as a fundamental design material rather than simply adding AI-powered features to existing experiences.
- Experience designing for connected TV, OTT platforms, or other large-screen interfaces is an advantage but is not required.
- A pragmatic approach to design tools, with a focus on sound judgment, user outcomes, and product quality rather than attachment to any particular software.
Benefits:
- Opportunity to work on emerging AI-powered commerce and discovery experiences.
- High ownership within a deliberately small design team, with meaningful responsibility for real product surfaces.
- Opportunity to shape new interaction patterns for connected TV and large-screen experiences.
- Exposure to AI, consumer technology, e-commerce, and emerging digital product experiences.
- Close collaboration with product and engineering teams throughout the full product lifecycle.
- Opportunity to work on products reaching large and diverse consumer audiences.
- A creative environment that values experimentation, strong design craft, thoughtful decision-making, and constructive critique.
- Opportunity to contribute to a relatively new design space without being constrained by an established playbook.
- Competitive compensation and benefits, subject to the applicable employment package.
- India-based opportunity with a Bangalore location.
