QA Engineer

Job Description:

A QA Engineer ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of our products. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define quality standards, design test strategies, and identify issues early in the development lifecycle. This role is critical in delivering high-quality software that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Test strategy & planning: Define and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios aligned with product requirements and risk.
  • Manual testing: Execute functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory tests across web and/or mobile applications.
  • Automation: Design, build, and maintain automated test suites; improve test coverage and stability in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Defect management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs; validate fixes and ensure high-quality releases.
  • Quality collaboration: Work with Product and Engineering to refine acceptance criteria, clarify edge cases, and prevent defects early.
  • Non-functional testing: Support performance, reliability, and basic security testing where applicable; monitor quality signals post-release.
  • Process improvement: Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, and reporting to increase efficiency and product confidence.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear QA documentation, including test results, release sign-offs, and quality metrics.

Required qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar testing role in software development.
  • Testing fundamentals: Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, SDLC/STLC, and defect lifecycle.
  • Automation skills: Experience with at least one test automation framework/tool (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium) and writing maintainable tests.
  • Technical fluency: Ability to read logs, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate effectively with developers; familiarity with APIs and tools like Postman is a plus.
  • CI/CD & version control: Working knowledge of Git and CI tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) is a plus.
  • Communication: Clear, structured communication and strong stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Mindset: Detail-oriented, proactive, and focused on preventing issues—not just finding them.
