Job Description
Ares is seeking a Senior Associate to serve as a Business Analyst within Client Platforms, the engineering team responsible for all client-facing systems within Ares, including Sales, Marketing, Client Reporting, and Digital/Web platforms. Reporting to a Vice President, Product Manager, this individual will gather requirements, document business processes, and support the successful delivery of digital products and technology initiatives supporting the Institutional Investor Lifecycle such as investor onboarding and post-close servicing.
In addition to traditional business analysis responsibilities, this role will work closely with business stakeholders to define, document, and optimize end-to-end business process flows, ensuring technology solutions align with operational needs and strategic business objectives. The ideal candidate can demonstrate clear lineage from requirements back to business outcomes and, ideally, quantifiable relationships to key performance indicators (KPIs).
Candidates should have experience working with Salesforce-based business processes and technologies, including gathering requirements, mapping workflows, and partnering with business users to drive platform enhancements.
This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build expertise in product management, enterprise technology, and client platform solutions within asset management.
The successful candidate will be a trusted partner to business stakeholders and product managers by producing clear requirements, improving delivery quality, building deep business knowledge, and helping define efficient operating processes across the investor lifecycle. The candidate should have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the presence to partner with senior stakeholders across engineering and the business.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
- Elicit and document business requirements and ensure alignment to business outcomes and KPIs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define, document, and improve end-to-end business process flows and operating models.
- Create user stories, process maps/flows, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
- Analyze current-state and future-state processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into Salesforce and other client platform requirements.
- Assist with backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Support testing, UAT coordination, and defect triage.
- Assist with project documentation and meeting materials.
- Track action items and ensure follow-up with stakeholders.
- Develop subject matter expertise across client platforms, including Salesforce and investor lifecycle processes.
Qualifications:
Experience & Background
- 1-3 years of business analysis, consulting, or technology experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, process mapping, and documentation skills.
- Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions and working directly with business stakeholders to define business processes and workflows.
- Experience working with Salesforce, including supporting Salesforce-based business processes, requirements gathering, workflow documentation, and platform enhancements.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and project management best practices.
- Comfortable presenting to business and technology leaders.
- Exposure to asset management, financial services, or capital markets preferred.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence preferred.
- Experience supporting client onboarding, investor lifecycle, CRM, or client servicing processes is a plus.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$145,000 - $150,000
