About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer with 10+ years of experience to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise applications and backend services. In this role, you will architect and build robust, secure, and high-performance Java solutions, develop APIs and integrations, modernize legacy applications, and support automation initiatives involving Chatbot, Voicebot, and conversational AI. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build reliable, scalable solutions and integrations hosted on AWS.

• Architect, design, and implement high-availability, fault-tolerant enterprise Java applications.

• Write clean, secure, and highly optimized code utilizing modern Java features to support scalable backend services and APIs.

• Design and scale distributed microservices architectures optimized for performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Build and integrate APIs, backend services, and orchestration components supporting enterprise applications, automation, Chatbot, and Voicebot initiatives.

• Contribute to modernization of legacy applications and migration to modern, scalable architectures.

• Optimize data models, database performance, and application services across relational and NoSQL databases.

• Manage and automate secure cloud-based deployment pipelines using modern DevOps practices on AWS.

• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and mentor engineering team members.

What You Will Need to Be Successful

Required Technical Skills

• Core Tech: Java 17 / Java 21, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate ORM, and JPA.

• Architecture: Microservices, Event Driven Architecture, CQRS, Distributed Transactions (Saga pattern), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

• APIs & Integration: REST APIs, API gateways, third-party API integrations, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, and Couchbase.

• Messaging & Streaming: Apache Kafka.

• Cloud & DevOps: AWS (highly preferred; experience with Azure or GCP is acceptable), Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins or GitLab CI.

• AI Integration: Experience integrating Java applications with AI services, LLM-based capabilities, Chatbot/Voicebot platforms, or other third-party AI tools through APIs. Working knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and conversational AI concepts is preferred.

• Testing & Tools: JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, Maven, or Gradle.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with strong hands-on Java development experience.

• Proven track record working on large-scale distributed systems, enterprise applications, or SaaS products.

• Extensive experience building and deploying software within Agile/Scrum environments.

• Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating monolithic applications to microservices architectures.

• Strong experience developing APIs, integrations, and backend services.

• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications and a good understanding of AI, Generative AI, and conversational AI concepts.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Strong system-level troubleshooting skills with the ability to make sound decisions using available data.

• Self-starter mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and execute tasks independently.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, AI, architecture, and product teams.

• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred (Good to Have) Skills

• Experience with Chatbot, Voicebot, conversational AI, or virtual assistant solutions.

• Experience integrating Generative AI / LLM capabilities into enterprise applications.

• Experience integrating AI services with enterprise APIs and backend systems.

• Experience with AWS-based AI/ML services or third-party AI platforms.
