Role Overview
This is a core project management role responsible for managing one or more engineering teams across the full project lifecycle; intake, planning, execution, risk management, and delivery. You will work within an evolving AI-assisted PMO and be expected to grow into AI workflow development over time: adopting AI tools, contributing to lightweight automation, and helping set the standard for how project management functions in an AI-enabled environment.
Position Details
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related engineering discipline
- Experience: 5+ years total; minimum 3 years in project management
- Work Timings: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
- Location: Mumbai, India
What You’ll Do
Project Execution
- Manage engineering projects from intake through delivery; scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project state in Airtable (Projects, Deliverables, Workstreams, Tasks, RAID log) on a weekly basis
- Coordinate with Product Managers to align workstreams to roadmap priorities
- Facilitate sprint planning, status meetings, and retrospectives with engineering teams
- Identify blockers and risks early; escalate with context and a recommended path forward
- Track execution in YouTrack and ensure data integrity across project tracking tools
- Manage project change requests and ensure teams are following agreed-to processes
AI-Assisted Ways of Working (Growth Area)
- This team is actively building AI into how we manage projects. As you grow into the role, you will be expected to:
- Adopt and apply AI tools (Claude, Gemini, or similar) to reduce manual overhead; status drafting, meeting summaries, risk flagging
- Learn and use no-code/low-code automation platforms (e.g., Dify) to streamline PMO workflows
- Contribute ideas and findings from your own work back to the broader team
- Support rollout and training of new AI workflows as they are developed
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 3+ years of project management experience in a software development environment, working with geographically distributed teams
- 3+ years of hands-on Agile/Scrum experience — you have run sprints, not just observed them
- Strong understanding of the full SDLC and how PM processes map to engineering execution
- Experience with project tracking tools — specifically YouTrack and/or JIRA; Airtable or similar strongly preferred
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or workstreams with structured prioritization
- Experience managing project dependencies and blocker issues, developing risk mitigation plans, and escalating when required
- Understanding of web technologies sufficient to assess risk and complexity within and across project teams
- Excellent written and verbal English; this role requires high-quality async communication with US-based stakeholders
- Strong documentation instincts — you default to writing things down and keeping records current
- Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) in day-to-day work — not just awareness
Strong Differentiators
- Hands-on experience with at least one AI/automation platform: Dify, n8n, or equivalent
- Experience scripting or building utility tools with Python or SQL — prototypes and lightweight automation, not full-stack engineering
- Experience integrating project management tools (e.g., YouTrack–Airtable syncs)
- Understanding of data concepts: dependencies, data hierarchies, basic pipeline awareness
- PMI certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Prior experience in digital media, website, or mobile application development environments
