Position Title: Data Analyst

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

Position Summary

The Professional Services Unit of the Engineering Operations Division is seeking a Data Analyst to support data management, reporting, and performance tracking for professional services programs. The Data Analyst will examine, clean, organize, and analyze data to measure operational, procurement, and project performance; identify trends and issues; and develop reports and tools that support informed decision-making. The position will assist with the design, development, and maintenance of tracking systems, dashboards, reports, and other data tools using applications such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and related database/reporting platforms. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving data integrity issues, transforming large datasets into clear insights, preparing technical and training documentation, and developing presentations for internal stakeholders and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

•         Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business analytics, computer science, information systems, engineering, public administration, or a related field.

•         Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting, database management, or a related function.

•         Experience developing and implementing tracking systems that are user-friendly, accessible, and capable of integrating with other applications, including Microsoft Office tools, for reporting and presentation purposes.

•         Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using reporting or visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI.

•         Ability to examine, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources.

•         Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

•         Ability to prepare clear reports, technical documentation, training materials, and presentations.

 

Preferred Qualifications

•         Experience supporting task order programs, professional services programs, procurement, contracts, or project controls.

•         Experience working across departments or business units to collect, validate, and reconcile information.

•         Experience developing dashboards, performance metrics, and recurring reports for operational or executive review.

•         Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical audiences.

•         Experience preparing and presenting reports, findings, or recommendations to senior leadership.

•         Familiarity with SharePoint Lists, Power Apps, Microsoft Forms, or other tools used to collect and manage operational data.

Compensation Good-faith compensation rate range is around $50-$60 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, certifications, technical expertise, and client requirements.
