Job Description:

Objective of Role:

The Light Capacity Product Manager is responsible for managing and growing the Light Capacity product portfolio across its full lifecycle. This role drives product strategy, innovation, and profitability through deep understanding of customer applications, market trends, and competitive dynamics. The Product Manager partners closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations teams to translate market insights into differentiated products, effective pricing strategies, and successful product launches.

This role is accountable for product line performance, including sales, margins, and market share, and plays a key role in long-range and annual planning. The Product Manager supports global sales channels with tools, training, and technical insights to drive revenue growth and customer value.

This role requires strong commercial and analytical capability combined with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a technical, specification-driven environment. The Product Manager must be proactive, data-driven, and customer-focused, with strong communication skills to influence internally and externally. Experience managing complex product portfolios and supporting distributed sales organizations is critical.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Light Capacity product portfolio across its full lifecycle, including product strategy, roadmap development, and end-of-life planning
  • Own and monitor product line performance, including sales, margins, contribution, and market share against budget and prior year results
  • Establish market size, growth trends, and customer segmentation through market research, competitive analysis, and direct customer engagement
  • Collect, synthesize, and translate customer insights and competitive intelligence into clear product requirements and value propositions
  • Formulate and execute product and marketing strategies that drive sustainable growth and competitive differentiation
  • Support and contribute to pricing strategies to improve profitability and maintain market competitiveness
  • Partner with engineering and operations using customer backed innovation principles to justify, plan, and implement new product development, enhancements, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate product launches, including commercialization plans, sales tools, training materials, and go-to-market execution
  • Work closely with Marketing Communications to develop and maintain product collateral, user and service manuals, price lists, web content, and training materials
  • Provide product training and support to internal teams, distributors, key account managers, and other sales channels
  • Monitor regulatory, legislative, and industry trends impacting Light Capacity products and applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Engineering or other technical background
  • Experience in Customer Service / Technical Support / Account Management
  • Diagnostic logic development
  • Experience in technical position
  • Strong mechanical, software, or electrical knowledge
  • Experience in the design and development phase of new products
  • Experience in bringing new products to market
  • Experience with ITW business and products

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions  

  • Up to 20–25% travel (8–10 weeks annually), including customer visits, distributor meetings, and industry events
  • Distributor sites and conditions will vary based on industry and product
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb when at customer site
  • May be exposed to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet conditions
  • May be required to sit/stand/walk
  • May be required to lift 35-65 lbs.

Compensation Information:

Pay Range: $80,800 - $121,200 per year
