Benefits
Full description
Want your models deployed where they matter instead of dying in a notebook? Zaden Technologies is hiring Data Scientists to support a defense logistics analytics program. This is an on-site role — you'd work in person with the mission team, building the demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and anomaly detection models that turn a flood of logistics data into decisions.
Role Responsibilities:
- Build demand forecasting models using classical time-series methods (ARIMA, exponential smoothing) and machine learning approaches (Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, XGBoost)
- Develop inventory optimization solutions using linear programming and mixed-integer techniques
- Build anomaly detection capabilities using clustering (k-means, DBSCAN) and autoencoder techniques
- Apply statistical modeling to support operational decision-making
- Deploy models to production and monitor, validate, and recalibrate them against real performance standards
- Help deliver dashboards and decision support through modern BI and analytics platforms
- Work on-site with the mission team
- Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- An active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI) at time of application (firm requirement, U.S. citizenship required)
- A Master's degree in an applicable field and 5+ years of applied data science experience
- Hands-on depth in Python, R, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
- Availability to work on-site in the greater Tampa area
- Start date in early October
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of applied data science experience
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or readiness analytics
- Demonstrated experience deploying models to production (not just research or prototyping)
- Dashboarding experience in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
- Strong documentation skills or experience delivering knowledge transfer/training
- Optimization experience (linear programming, mixed-integer)
What we offer:
- Robust startup environment with a variety of projects to work on
- Growth paths and endless opportunities to learn and develop
- Paid holidays and flexible paid time off
- Employer contributions toward 401k
- 50% coverage of health insurance for employees and their dependents
