Adyen is seeking an Android Engineer to shape the future of mobile payments for leading companies. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented engineer with deep expertise in building robust, enterprise-level Android SDKs. A typical day for an Android Engineer at Adyen involves a mix of focused Kotlin development for enterprise-level Android SDKs, collaborating with teams on new payment features, and architectural design. You'll be actively involved in code reviews, ensuring high quality, and may research new technologies like Jetpack Compose or security best practices. Interesting projects often include integrating novel payment methods, enhancing secure data flows, or optimizing SDK performance for global businesses.

We are hiring across multiple role levels, across different teams in Payment Client Foundations (Software Engineer 1, 2 and Senior).

Must have qualifications:

  • Experience writing code in Kotlin.
  • Proficiency in building software for the Android platform.
  • Experience in development of enterprise level SDKs.
  • Expert level knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Gradle, Dependency Injection
  • Experience writing and maintaining a comprehensive suite of automated unit and integration tests
  • A high level of personal accountability and a blend of strong technical skills, creative problem-solving, and a collaborative spirit
  • Ability and desire to mentor and grow other engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and over-the-shoulder debugging
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Good to know:

  • Experience with building libraries used by other engineers
  • Knowledge about security best practices and standards
  • Experience working with Bluetooth-connected devices
  • Experience working in payment industry
