Test Engineering Manager Locations: Houston (IB3) Business Units: CESBG Job Classification: Exempt Summary The Test Engineering Manager leads the test engineering organization and oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing test processes for existing and new products. This role ensures test systems, equipment, and processes meet customer, quality, and operational requirements while supporting efficient production and successful new product introductions. The manager is responsible for developing and evaluating engineering and technical talent, establishing team capabilities, driving test readiness and process improvements, and ensuring effective training, execution, and performance across the test engineering function.
Key Responsibilities• Supervises and manages the work of employees within the assigned test area
- Plans, implements, continuously improves, and coordinates processes related to existing and new products
- Ensures the efficient operation of the test environment, test equipment, and test tools in compliance with customer requirements to support effective testing processes
- Responsible for the selection, continuous development, and evaluation of Test Engineers, Test Engineer Assistants, Shift Leaders, and Test Technicians in their organization
- Accountable for the outcomes of activities within the test engineering department, including defining the sub-processes and competence needs required for effective operations
- Ensures the necessary training is provided for employees affected by new product introductions, process changes, or technology updates
- Designs and ensures the effective operation of test engineering processes
