About the Role
Data is the single biggest enabler for the future of Finance, and this role sits at the centre of that transformation. As the Group Product Manager, Finance Data Products, you will own the data product strategy and roadmap for the Finance organisation, leading the Product track within Enterprise Data Products. You will define the vision for how Finance data evolves into trusted, reusable and self-service data products, creating the foundation for a modern, AI-enabled Finance function. Success in this role means enabling Finance teams to access insights in seconds rather than waiting for reports, ensuring consistent data definitions across the organisation, and building a trusted data foundation for future analytics and AI capabilities.
Product Leadership
- Own the vision, strategy, goals, success metrics and roadmap for Finance data products across the organisation.
- Establish a single, prioritised roadmap, balancing competing Finance needs and avoiding fragmented solutions.
- Champion Finance data consumers by delivering trusted, reusable and self-service data products, informed by adoption, usage and business metrics.
- Drive transparent prioritisation and trade-offs based on business value, risk, reuse and effort.
- Lead quarterly and annual planning, identifying key opportunities and aligning resources with Data Engineering, Architecture and Finance stakeholders.
- Build strong Finance domain expertise and own the demand intake process and data product operating model.
- Ensure data products are trusted, governed, well-documented and compliant with data governance, SOx, regulatory and privacy standards.
- Partner with delivery teams to track execution and ensure progress against the product roadmap.
- Drive adoption and change management across Finance, enabling teams to move away from legacy and manual processes.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of Data Product Managers, enabling them to define roadmaps, requirements and product specifications.
- Partner closely with Data Engineering and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality Finance data products.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback and development support, recognising individual strengths and development areas.
- Set clear SMART objectives and measurable outcomes, while inspiring high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Build product management capability by developing team members from tactical execution toward strategic data product leadership.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and openness to feedback.
Product Craft Leadership
- Act as a Product Management subject-matter expert and coach for Data Product Managers across levels.
- Champion and continuously improve Data Product Management practices, standards and ways of working.
- Help establish, scale and mature the data product management approach across Booking.com.
- Contribute to the broader Product Management community by sharing best practices, frameworks and learnings.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and structured-thinking skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing abilities
- Ability to define and drive product vision, strategy and roadmap
- Proven experience influencing and aligning cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Experience leading distributed/global teams across locations and time zones
- Strong project/program management skills with experience in Agile ways of working
- Proven end-to-end data product ownership in complex, data-rich environments
- Strong Finance domain expertise, including financial processes and regulatory reporting
- Good understanding of data products, data quality, governance, metadata/lineage, SLAs/SLOs and data mesh
- Strategic familiarity with data platforms and tools such as SAP DataSphere, Snowflake/BDX, Data Vault 2.0 and Collibra
- Experience partnering closely with Data Engineering, Architecture and Finance SMEs
- Exposure to SOx, financial controls, audit and regulatory requirements
- Highly collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
