The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, coupled with an understanding of commercial analytics. This role is central to our organization, providing crucial financial support, strategic recommendations, and insight to our Canadian Commercial team to help drive profitable growth. The Sr. Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance will also be instrumental in planning and reporting against annual revenue plans and achieving targets.   

This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support and business case modeling to evaluate financial and market impacts and enable profitable decision-making
  • Partner with Sales, Product Development, and Accounting teams to deliver financial insights and recommendations that support commercial objectives
  • Own key month-end processes, including P&L analysis, variance commentary, and management reporting packages
  • Maintain the integrity of pricing controls through process documentation, cross-functional alignment, and reconciliation of key data sources
  • Analyze business performance trends and key drivers, identifying risks, opportunities, and actions to improve results against targets
  • Enhance and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and data sources to improve Commercial Finance visibility and decision support
  • Support forecasting and planning processes by assessing business drivers across channels and quantifying risks and opportunities
  • Lead ad-hoc projects that support commercial priorities and organizational growth

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field (CPA, CFA, or MBA is an asset)
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, commercial finance, or accounting
  • Experience in Beverage Alcohol, CPG, Cannabis, or related industries is an asset
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced user of MS Office Suite, with a focus on Excel is a must
  • Proficiency with visualization software (i.e. Tableau) is an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of trade investment, promotional landscape, and promotional optimization techniques is an asset
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Details

This is a full-time remote-first role based out of Kanata/Ottawa or Toronto, Ontario.

Salary - $80,000- $95,000
