Supports Collective Residential's M&A team by maintaining the M&A database in Excel: entering new data as it's received from acquisition targets, logging offers and valuations we've sent, and translating target financial statements into our standard reporting categories.
Responsibilities • Maintain and update the M&A database in Excel, including data received from acquisition targets and data on offers/valuations sent to targets.
- Enter new data as deals progress, following the database's existing structure and categories — this is a maintenance role, not a rebuild.
- Read and interpret financial statements submitted by targets (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Recategorize and standardize line items from target financials into Collective Residential's standard categories.
- Check entries for accuracy and consistency across the database.
- Flag anomalies, unclear data, or discrepancies to the M&A team rather than guessing.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all deal, valuation, and target financial data per NDA
- Strong, hands-on Excel skills (formulas, structured tables, accurate data entry; pivot tables a plus).
- Ability to read and understand financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
- High attention to detail and consistency across repetitive data entry.
- Comfort working independently once trained on the existing database structure.
- Trustworthy handling of confidential deal and financial information.
- Reliable internet and own equipment.

- Prior finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or M&A support experience.
- Familiarity with the property management industry.
- Payments in USD every two weeks (Contractor Agreement);
