About us
We have a proud heritage and a progressive future, providing world class drinking water and beautiful waterways from the mountains to the sea. We see the world is changing so we are changing too. Our people and their jobs are as diverse as the communities we serve.
What will you be doing?
Sydney Water is in the process of delivering its initial footprint on the ServiceNow platform. We need the skills of an experienced ServiceNow Senior Project Manager to lead this implementation and further develop the platform with new capabilities.
The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for leading, mentoring and coaching Project teams (including other Project Managers) to work effectively within Sydney Water and deliver in line with corporate standards and expected cultural behaviours. It builds and leads teams to deliver large programs and projects, ensuring everyone involved — across governance, business, technical, and vendor roles — clearly understands their responsibilities. The role can oversee multiple projects at the same time, managing delivery of projects both large and small, ensuring solutions are high quality and provide real business value. There will be a need to develop well‑structured, benefits-focussed business cases, management of budgets and forecasts, and delivery of agreed scope within schedule, quality and budget.
Fixed Term - Full-Time (12 months opportunity)
Your role will involve:
- ServiceNow best practice: Leveraging ServiceNow leadership and experience to deliver new capabilities on the ServiceNow platform. Ensuring that project teams use appropriate delivery methodologies, in the right way.
- Lead with impact: Hold full managerial authority to establish and lead virtual project teams delivering complex initiatives over months or years.
- Enable accountability: Ensure roles, accountabilities and authorities are clear, and teams have the financial, people and physical delegations needed to succeed.
- Foster collaboration: Build inclusive, high‑performing teams where everyone contributes to decisions and commits to a shared direction. This will require relationship building between multiple project teams and suppliers.
- Drive delivery: Assign and monitor work to keep projects on track across multiple workstreams.
- Commercial management: Work with procurement specialists to define several commercial engagements. Lead these engagements through to completion, with appropriate oversight of financials.
- Lead by expertise: Bring strong technical leadership and deep knowledge of PRINCE2, the Digital Delivery Platform (DDP), and project, program and portfolio processes, mentoring and supporting other Project Managers in their effective use.
- Manage complexity with confidence: Structure long‑running projects into clear stages and workstreams, enabling measurable progress and clear monthly reporting to project boards.
