Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead and oversee multiple medium-to-large-scale IT projects supporting Workforce Information Technology Solutions (WITS). This role is responsible for project governance, planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder engagement, quality assurance, and compliance with Florida Rule 60GG project management standards.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex cross-functional technology initiatives, leading enterprise project teams, overseeing vendors, and applying Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, and PMBOK methodologies to successfully deliver business and technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple concurrent IT projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Florida Rule 60GG governance, reporting, documentation, and oversight requirements.
- Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), communication plans, risk registers, and status reports.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Conduct project health assessments, risk analyses, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate project activities across WITS, business units, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
- Review and process change requests, including impact assessments and recommendations.
- Facilitate executive briefings, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and project governance reviews.
- Prepare weekly project status reports including progress, risks, issues, milestones, quality metrics, and mitigation activities.
- Support Workforce Modernization initiatives and enterprise strategic objectives.
- Manage project quality assurance and quality control activities.
- Develop mitigation strategies for project risks and issues.
- Provide project management coaching, mentoring, and best-practice guidance.
- Support business analysis activities including requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
- Coordinate resource planning, staffing needs, budgets, vendor services, and technology resources.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams throughout the SDLC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) required.
- Minimum 7 years of IT experience.
- Minimum 7 years managing complex cross-functional projects.
- Experience managing projects across multiple technologies and business domains.
- Experience working with enterprise PMO and governance frameworks.
