Salesforce Consultant

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Salesforce Consultant to support a federal financial regulatory environment. This role partners with government product and program leads to modernize and optimize Salesforce capabilities, including Salesforce Classic to Lightning migration, requirements leadership, and delivery support across configuration, testing, and deployment.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Salesforce Developer: $100,000 - $120,000
Pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities Include:
- Lead projects from prioritization through concept development and user story writing to supporting development, testing, and deployment.
- Work with government leads to manage scope of new project enhancement requests; clarify objectives, constraints, acceptance criteria, and release timing.
- Work with Product Owner and users to determine operational objectives of business needs and elicit requirements.
- Identify core business needs and decompose and document them in concepts of operation, story maps, briefings, and user stories; document business rules and construct workflow diagrams as needed.
- Translate complex business processes into clear and actionable user stories with thorough acceptance criteria, including exception paths and operational reporting needs.
- Support Salesforce Classic to Lightning migration activities, including discovery, gap analysis, Lightning experience redesign, readiness planning, and post-cutover stabilization.
- Configure and optimize Salesforce using declarative tools, with emphasis on Flow (record-triggered, screen flows, scheduled flows), approvals, validation rules, page layouts, and Lightning App Builder to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure declarative automation is scalable, maintainable, and aligned with governance, auditability, and compliance expectations in a regulated environment.
- Present formal and informal oral and written briefings to government managers; produce executive-ready summaries and decision support materials.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested:
- Bachelor’s degree with preferred study in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Math, Statistics, Operations Research, or Engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience. Ten (10) years of work experience in related field may be substituted for education.
- Demonstrated experience leading requirements in an Agile delivery environment, including story mapping, user story writing, and acceptance criteria development.
- Proven ability to translate complex business processes into clear requirements and actionable user stories.
- Experience documenting business rules and processes using workflow diagrams and structured artifacts (e.g., CONOPS).
- Experience supporting or leading Salesforce Classic to Lightning migration efforts.
- Hands-on experience with declarative configuration and automation, including Salesforce Flow.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief senior government stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
