About the team:
Working alongside a team of data professionals, prepare accurate data and reports for management to support regulatory and management reporting. You will build, maintain and improve reports using contemporary tools. You will also perform ad hoc analysis, generate insights to support decision making. Support the division in its ambition to become more data driven and technology enabled.
Our team's performance is critical to ASX's success in operating a market of the highest integrity and meeting the expectations of our customers and the wider Australian community. You will work closely with subject matter experts in Listings Compliance, including members of our admissions and investment products teams. You will also have day to day involvement with members of our Transformation and Operational Performance team, who drive the execution of our continuous improvement and change programs.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare timely and high-quality periodic reports (monthly, quarterly) for executive, board and regulatory submissions
- Design and build reports and dashboards that provide actionable insight and commentary for management
- Perform a range of ad hoc data analysis and prepare clear and concise reports to articulate findings
- Collaborate with stakeholders from broad cross functional teams to deliver data and analysis solutions that meet their requirements
- Identify and implement enhancements to current reporting processes
- Assist in automating processes with use of data
- Develop expert knowledge in using 3rd party applications (IRESS, Capital IQ, Bloomberg) to augment internal data analytics
- Undertake data quality initiatives which may include exploring data sets, data lineage, data remediation, data quality monitoring, to ensure integrity of our regulatory and management reporting.
What you will bring:
Must have
- 2+ years’ experience as a data analyst or similar role
- Prior experience in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, data visualisations
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using contemporary tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI)
- Strong analytical mindset, problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
Nice to have
- Recently graduated with a business-related degree in areas such as commerce, business analytics, data science, applied mathematics
- Ability to work with large data sets and understand interactions between relevant data
- Experience with data programming languages such as Python and/or R
- A diligent record keeper
- Curious and investigative, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently, although reasonable supervision and guidance will be provided by more senior peers
