Job Type: Full-time Hybrid/Remote

Job Description: Cloudpoint Geospatial is looking for a Project Manager to ensure that projects are completed accurately, on budget, and on time. This position will manage and provide GIS support on a variety of GIS projects for our Local Government and Public Safety teams while working alongside experienced technical GIS professionals. The Project Manager will manage 10 to 20 projects ranging from $15,000 to $125,000 and will follow established procedures to monitor project progress, assign tasks, manage budgets and hours, and identify and report issues to the Vice President of Operations. An ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, adaptable, and client-focused, with the ability to manage multiple projects and communicate clearly with both clients and internal teams. 

Functions:

  • Manage project resources, schedules, budgets, scope, and hours
  • Monitor project progress and percent complete to support accurate billing and ensure project profitability
  • Coordinate tasks and work with technical GIS professionals to keep projects on schedule
  • Complete GIS-related tasks on their own projects and assist on other projects as needed
  • Address clients’ ongoing GIS needs and serve as a primary point of contact for project communication
  • Identify project issues, make appropriate course corrections, and report significant issues to the Vice President of Operations
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining thorough project notes and documentation
  • Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams through email, Trello, Slack, and other project tools
  • Stay current with changes in Esri technologies and maintain a high-level understanding of GIS concepts
  • Build strong client relationships and support repeat business through professional, responsive project delivery

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience managing projects and/or working in a project management environment
  • Experience in completing GIS project work utilizing the latest Esri products
  • Excellent client-facing and internal written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and client-facing teams
  • Proficiency in basic office applications and the ability to quickly learn new software  applications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with local government, county government, and/or public safety organizations
  • PMP certification
  • GIS certificate or related GIS education

Work Context:

  • Frequent work operating a computer in an office (or home office) setting.  
  • Frequently sedentary with occasional fieldwork requiring walking and lifting 20lbs.
  • Frequently communicates with coworkers and clients about project work and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information in these situations.
