Senior Developer (Python/AWS)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer with strong expertise in Python and AWS cloud technologies to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications and APIs. This role will focus on building serverless solutions, implementing infrastructure as code, and developing highly available services within AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python.
• Build and manage cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services.
• Develop and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
• Design, configure, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using AWS API Gateway.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while optimizing performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
• Create technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
• Experience designing and deploying applications in AWS.
• Proficiency with:• AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit)
• AWS Lambda
• AWS API Gateway

• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with source control systems such as Git.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and containerized workloads.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with AWS security best practices and IAM.
• Experience integrating cloud services with enterprise applications.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a self-driven Senior developer who can take ownership of cloud-based application development, contribute to architectural decisions, and deliver reliable solutions in a fast-paced environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $120.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
