Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Role Overview

As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, Manager – 3D Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining engineering CAD data for the Accessories portfolio. This role will support product development programs by ensuring accurate digital models, engineering documentation, manufacturing feasibility, and data governance throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

3D CAD Development & Data Management

  • Create and manage 3D CAD data, assemblies, and engineering drawings for vehicle accessories and related products.
  • Ensure digital models accurately reflect design intent, engineering requirements, and manufacturing specifications.

Tooling & Manufacturing Feasibility

  • Support tooling design and manufacturing feasibility assessments for new accessories.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Dimensional Engineering & GD&T

  • Conduct dimensional analysis and tolerance stack-up reviews to ensure proper fit, form, and functionality.
  • Perform GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) reviews and ensure designs comply with engineering and manufacturing standards.

Engineering Data & PLM Management

  • Maintain engineering data, product structures, BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation within PLM systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, version control, and traceability throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in CATIA and SolidWorks.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD data creation and management.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional engineering principles.
  • Experience with PLM systems and engineering data management processes.
  • Knowledge of tooling development and manufacturing feasibility reviews.

Education Qualification

Experience & Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of experience in CAD engineering, product development, engineering data management, or automotive accessories development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within automotive OEMs, automotive accessories businesses, or engineering service organizations preferred.
  • Exposure to product lifecycle management (PLM), tooling development, and manufacturing processes is an advantage.
