Role Objective

IncubatorLab is looking for a proactive QA Engineer to join our team for a dedicated weekend rotation! This role ensures our Shopify storefront, checkout, and subscription engine maintain 24/7/365 operational excellence. Working alongside our weekday team, you will own the Saturday and Sunday evening/night coverage windows to catch visual regressions, validate weekend hotfixes, and protect revenue.

Shifts Available:

  • 9:00 aM – 5:00 PM EST (Sat–Sun)
  • 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM EST (Sat–Sun)
  • 1:00 AM – 9:00 AM EST (Sat–Sun)

What You'll Do

  • Weekend Storefront Monitoring: Provide live, real-time storefront monitoring of resilia.shop during high-volume weekend traffic hours to catch visual regressions or broken links.
  • Off-Peak Deploy & Integration Validation: Test and validate weekend hotfixes, theme updates, Liquid template changes, and third-party app updates. Execute post-deploy smoke tests immediately.
  • Full Funnel Verification: Run manual and automated regression tests across desktop and mobile, focusing on checkout stability, discount code logic, subscription disclosures, and payment gateways.
  • Asynchronous Bug Reporting: Triage and document bugs in ClickUp and GitHub Issues with clear reproduction steps, video evidence, and severity ratings.
  • Weekend-to-Weekday Handoffs: Maintain rigorous handoff documentation to ensure seamless alignment with the incoming weekday QA lead on Monday morning.
  • Incident Escalation: Act as the primary on-shift responder for automated status/uptime alerts, escalating revenue-impacting issues directly to our dedicated weekend developer on call.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Communication: High/native English proficiency (written and spoken) is essential. Clear, precise async communication via GitHub and ClickUp is required for off-hours alignment.
  • Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in QA/testing, ideally within a fast-paced agency or a 6–7 figure+ DTC/e-commerce brand.
  • Shopify & Liquid Mastery: Strong working knowledge of Shopify Admin, backend settings, metafields, and the ability to read and understand Liquid template logic.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working in GitHub (PR diffs, branching, tagging) and a solid grasp of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to diagnose root causes.
  • Testing Rigor: Hands-on experience with structured manual test case writing, bug triage/severity classification, and cross-browser/cross-device testing.
  • Mindset: Proven ability to work autonomously during weekend shifts, execute structured test cases, and manage incident triaging without hand-holding.

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing subscription commerce (Recharge, Skio, Loop).
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
  • Background in CRO, performance/speed monitoring, or analytics tracking (GA4).
  • Prior experience working a night-shift or weekend QA rotation.

Working Hours & Culture

  • Contract Details: Part-time weekend contract role with a standard 30-day trial period prior to permanent confirmation.
  • Shift Alignment: Strict adherence to your assigned Saturday–Sunday EST shift with a dedicated, distraction-free setup.
  • Developer Escalation: A dedicated weekend developer is available for escalations. QA's role is monitoring, smoke-testing, and escalating rather than fixing code directly.
