Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and highly skilled Technical Lead - Golang to lead the development and optimization of high-performance backend and batch-processing systems for large-scale banking platforms. You will be responsible for technical design, implementation, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and production support. The role requires strong expertise in Golang, particularly in concurrency, memory management, profiling, and performance tuning. This position is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who is passionate about building reliable systems, developing reusable Golang components, and resolving complex technical issues within demanding delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Lead the technical design and development of backend services using Golang and Gin, ensuring scalability, maintainability, security, and system reliability.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize application performance, with a strong focus on concurrency, goroutines, memory management, garbage collection, resource utilization, and profiling.
- Batch Processing: Design, develop, and maintain high-volume batch-processing solutions supporting banking operations such as fee collection, payment processing, debt recovery, reporting, and outbound data processing.
- Solution Delivery: Lead the full software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Database Management: Develop and optimize database solutions involving large data volumes, complex queries, transactions, database partitioning, and data archiving.
- Reusable Components: Design and build reusable Golang libraries, frameworks, and shared components for use across multiple backend services.
- File Processing: Develop secure and efficient file-processing solutions, including file streaming, compression, decompression, encryption, and decryption using ZIP and AES.
- API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs following OpenAPI standards and secure API design principles.
- System Integration: Integrate backend services with Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, job-scheduling platforms, and external systems.
- Production Support: Investigate and resolve application defects, performance issues, failed batch jobs, and production incidents within strict resolution timelines.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical and delivery objectives.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Promote clean code, effective code reviews, automated testing, secure development practices, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Monitoring & Deployment: Support application deployment, monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and operational activities using Docker, Kubernetes, Argo CD, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong professional experience in backend software development and technical leadership.
- Advanced hands-on development experience using Golang and the Gin framework.
- Deep understanding of Golang concurrency, including goroutines, channels, synchronization, race conditions, deadlocks, and concurrency patterns.
- Strong expertise in Golang performance optimization, memory management, garbage collection, benchmarking, profiling, and resource utilization.
- Hands-on experience using GORM, pgx, or similar persistence libraries.
- Strong experience working with PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, transactions, database partitioning, and large-volume data processing.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka for asynchronous messaging, event-driven processing, and high-volume data integration.
- Experience using Redis for caching, distributed processing, session management, or performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and API documentation using OpenAPI.
- Experience implementing file streaming, compression, and encryption using technologies such as ZIP and AES.
Experience developing and supporting enterprise batch-processing systems and job-scheduling platforms such as Autosys.
Proficiency in unit testing, mocking, debugging, root-cause analysis, and code optimization using Mockito or equivalent testing and mocking tools.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience working with GitLab pipelines or internally managed CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and deployment tools such as CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and Argo CD.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within short turnaround times.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working in banking, financial services, payment processing, debt recovery, fee collection, or other large-scale transaction-processing environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining high-volume batch-processing platforms.
- Experience building reusable Golang libraries, internal development frameworks, or shared technical components.
- Knowledge of secure data handling, encryption standards, database archiving, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting business-critical systems with strict service-level and incident-resolution expectations.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools for code analysis, debugging, root-cause identification, performance optimization, and defect resolution.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively to investigate and resolve defects during intensive testing cycles, particularly when issues require resolution within one to two hours.
- Experience working with distributed development and delivery teams.

- High-volume batch-processing systems

- Database partitioning and data archiving
