Position: Data Classification Engineer Location: Abu Dhabi (Onsite) Required Experience: 6+ years Salary Range: AED 15,000-16,000
Summary:
We are looking for a Data Classification Engineer to help manage how we organize and secure our data. In this role, you will make sure that our data is properly labelled (e.g., Public, Confidential, Restricted) before we share it with our clients. You will manage our data classification tools, prepare reports for client reviews, and prove to our clients that their information is safe with us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Label and Organize Data: Scan our databases to find sensitive information and apply the correct security labels.
- Manage Security Tools: Set up and run data tools (like Microsoft Purview or IDMC data governance) to automate data scanning and tagging.
- Prepare Client Reviews: Create clean, easy-to-understand reports showing clients how their data is classified and protected.
- Host Audits: Act as the main technical contact when clients want to log in and review our security tools or files.
- Fix Security Gaps: Work with our IT and database teams to fix any issues or mislabelled files found during client checks.
Skills & Requirements:• Tool Experience: At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience using data tools like Microsoft Purview, IDMC Data governance and data cataloguing, Informatica EDC, Informatica AXON, IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog, or BigID, or similar programs.
- Database Basics: Good knowledge of SQL to look through data tables and columns.
- Audit Knowledge: Experience dealing with security audits or customer reviews (like UAE PDPL, ISO 27001, GDPR, or SOC 2).
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain technical security rules to clients and internal teams.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized and precise when handling sensitive documents.
Education & Experience:• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 6+ years of experience working in data security, data governance, or IT auditing.
