Job Summary: Performs complex software engineering assignments. Provides technical guidance and leadership. Provides project coordination and supervision. Coordinates activities for proposals/new business. Defines budget and schedule constraints. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Umo Mobility is just getting started – As the QA & Test Manager for the Umo Mobility SaaS Platform, you will be part of shaping the Umoverse.

We are looking for a Manager of QA & Test for Umo Mobility (Senior Principal Software Engineer Lead). The position is responsible for the technical planning, coordination and execution of QA and Test activities across various projects. Working with multiple engineering teams, this role will develop system requirements, system configuration data and automated test activities to ensure performance and reliability. The manager is essential in the overall design, development and test activities from the system requirements view.

Role Responsibilities:

• Works with engineering leads to develop system requirements.
• Manages one or more System QA & Test Personnel and drives their day-to-day activities.
• Works closely with software developers to create software test work products including test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
• Identifies test resources and need dates.
• Prepares software test status reports and presents status to management and customers.
• Performs procedure validations, software builds, and QA and test administration.
• Traces system requirements from customer specifications to test cases.
• Defines the tool, AI, and automation strategy to ensure high quality QA and Test achievement
• Conducts integration and formal system tests.
• Maintains the test requirements database.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior personnel.
• Keeps abreast of improvements in QA and Test techniques.
• Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
• Interfaces with hardware, software, and systems engineers to evaluate test alternatives.
• Writes device/system procedures and conduct tests.
• Actively drives the triage, management, and resolution of issues.

Role Requirements:

Four-year college degree in an engineering or technical-related discipline, plus a minimum of five years’ experience in software or hardware engineering development or ten years of experience in QA, Test, and Software Engineering in lieu of the degree. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) required. Knowledge of ISO 25010 SQA (formally ISO 9126) desired. Proficiency in use of JIRA, QTest or TestRail, GitHub, Jenkins, SourceMeter, PC-lint, SonarQube, FxCop, ALM and/or other Testing Tools desired. Experience/ knowledge of test automation. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels, customers and subcontractors. Must be objective and self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision. Must have ability to prioritize, progress multiple projects in parallel, and work under deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Must have a positive people-oriented attitude. Able to work in a team environment and approach all challenges openly.

About You:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Testing
• Experience analyzing and testing complex engineering software
• Display a sound understanding of software development life-cycle
• Software Development or familiarity with JAVA, JIRA, and Testing toolsets is required.
• Experience with test automation is desirable
