About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong Python and Microsoft Azure expertise to join our engineering team building and scaling a PCI DSS v4.0–ready, microservices-based order processing platform. This platform running on a secure, private-network Azure architecture.

You will work across the full stack — from API design and serverless compute to database design and CI/CD — building secure, cost-efficient, and highly available services in a regulated, payment-adjacent environment.

What You'll Work On

  • Design,

build, and maintain Python-based microservices on Azure Functions (Python 3.11/3.12) across domains such as order intake, customer management, catalog, orchestration, tax, payment/PCI, fulfillment, notifications, and support APIs.

  • Build

and secure APIs exposed through Azure API Management (APIM) — including authentication, throttling, CORS, brand-scoped RBAC, and correlation-ID based tracing.

  • Work

within a Private VNet architecture, integrating Function Apps, Private Endpoints, NSGs, and NAT Gateway–based outbound connectivity to third-party partners (payment gateways, tax providers, OMS, email/mail services).

  • Design

and maintain schemas in a shared Azure SQL Database using module-owned table prefixes, optimizing for cost and performance at moderate transaction volume.

  • Implement secrets and credential management via Azure Key Vault using Managed

Identity — ensuring no hardcoded credentials anywhere in the platform.

  • Build tokenized payment integrations (e.g., CyberSource/PayPal) ensuring

PAN/CVV data never touches application code or storage — token-only handling.

  • Contribute

to PCI DSS v4.0 compliance controls: network segmentation, encryption in transit/at rest, access logging, audit trails, and secure system design.

  • Support queue- and timer-triggered async processing (cron/orchestration

patterns) for order lifecycle management with retry logic.

  • Collaborate

on cost-optimization decisions — right-sizing Function plans (Elastic Premium), SQL tiers, and reserved capacity planning.

  • Monitor

and troubleshoot production systems using Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.

  • Partner

with stakeholders to translate deployment architecture and solution design into working, well-tested code.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 6–9

years of professional software development experience, with strong full-stack capability.

  • Deep

hands-on experience with Python (3.x) for backend/microservice development.

  • Solid

experience building and deploying on Microsoft Azure, specifically:

  • Azure

Functions (serverless compute, VNet integration)

  • Azure

API Management

  • Azure

SQL Database

  • Azure

Key Vault & Managed Identity

  • Azure

VNet, NSGs, Private Endpoints, NAT Gateway

  • Experience

designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

  • Experience

with relational database design (schema design, query optimization, TDE/encryption-at-rest concepts).

  • Understanding

of secure application design: secrets management, least-privilege access, RBAC, TLS/encryption in transit.

  • Familiarity

with asynchronous/queue-based or timer-based processing patterns.

  • Experience

integrating with third-party APIs (payment gateways, tax engines, OMS, email/notification providers, etc.).

  • Working

knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Application Insights, Log Analytics or equivalent).

  • Strong

understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment practices.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • Experience

working in a PCI DSS–regulated environment.

  • Exposure

to e-commerce order management systems (Shopify, OMS platforms, or similar).

  • Experience

with tokenized payment processing (CyberSource, PayPal, Stripe, or similar gateways).

  • Familiarity

with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform on Azure).

  • Front-end

development experience (React/Angular/Vue) for full-stack contributions beyond APIs.

  • Experience

with cost optimization on cloud platforms (reserved capacity, right-sizing).

  • Azure

certifications (e.g., AZ-204, AZ-400, AZ-305) are a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong

ownership mindset — comfortable working across the stack from database to API to deployment.

  • Ability

to work in a security- and compliance-conscious environment with attention to detail.

  • Clear

communicator, able to work with architects and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Comfortable

in a fast-paced environment balancing scalability, security, and cost.
