Senior Data Engineer (Hiscox Inc., Atlanta, GA)

Serve as a core and professional member of our Data Engineering practice to build and operationalize complex data solutions, as well as apply transformations and data cleaning and data quality solutions.
Design, build support, and expand our Databricks cloud data platform for the business to enhance performance and functionality.
Develop data transformation pipelines using dbt.
As a senior data engineer in a squad of data engineers, take input on business requirements, refine development tasks, assess their complexity, and plan their delivery by a squad of contractor data engineers.
Research, evaluate, and adopt new technologies with optimal tools for the solution.
Ensure speed of delivery and quality of appropriate solutions.
Participate in code reviews for the Data Engineering practice.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for cloud data platform application and infrastructure.
Assess database performance and modify systems to improve performance.
Work with modern cloud data lake house technologies; data engineering (SQL/Python); Infrastructure as Code using Terraform; CI/CD; writing, testing, and deploying code using DevOps; DevOps Pipelines (Azure, AWS, or GCP); and, collaborating with technical and non-technical team members in Agile Scrum ceremonies.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field of study, plus five (5) years of experience with Databricks, dbt, modern cloud data lake house technologies; data engineering (SQL/Python); Infrastructure as Code using Terraform; CI/CD; writing, testing, and deploying code using DevOps; DevOps Pipelines (Azure, AWS, or GCP); and/or, collaborating with technical and non-technical team members in Agile Scrum ceremonies.

Salary: $160,056 - $170,000 per yr.
