About the role

This is the field execution role. You will be the person who shows up on-site when a warehouse has dead zones affecting scanner performance, when a new DC comes online and needs its wireless infrastructure stood up, or when a critical site needs a wireless assessment before a major network refresh. You thrive on solving real problems in real environments and you know how to work alongside operations teams, contractors, and project managers to get the job done right.

This role requires substantial domestic travel — estimated 40-60% depending on project pipeline. You are comfortable spending time in warehouse and distribution center environments and bring the field savvy to make things work under pressure.

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary on-site wireless engineer for enterprise and warehouse/DC wireless deployments, upgrades, and remediation projects globally
  • Conduct wireless site surveys, RF assessments, and post-deployment validation at TD SYNNEX facilities worldwide
  • Execute wireless deployments in coordination with contractors, facilities teams, and the Costa Rica-based wireless architect
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex wireless issues including RF interference, roaming failures, capacity problems, and coverage gaps in challenging environments (high-bay warehouses, metal shelving, Automation areas)
  • Deploy and configure access points, WLAN controllers, and wireless management platforms across multiple vendor environments
  • Partner with the Wi-Fi Architect to validate that design standards translate correctly to physical deployments
  • Document site conditions, as-built configurations, and lessons learned to feed back into global design standards
  • Coordinate with local IT teams, facilities, and third-party cabling contractors on low voltage and structured cabling requirements
  • Support wireless security implementation: 802.1X, RADIUS authentication, guest network segmentation, and WLAN security hardening
  • Maintain and contribute to the global wireless asset inventory and CMDB records

What we are looking for

  • 10- 15 years of enterprise wireless networking experience with a strong emphasis on field deployment and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience with wireless in warehouse, distribution centers, or industrial environments — understanding of RF behavior in high-bay, high-density, and metallic environments is essential
  • Hands-on proficiency with one or more enterprise Wi-Fi platforms: Cisco Catalyst Wireless, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with wireless site survey and analysis tools: Ekahau Site Survey, iBwave, AirMagnet, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals: channel planning, transmit power, antenna patterns, RSSI/SNR optimization, co-channel interference
  • Familiarity with structured cabling and low voltage installation standards (TIA-568, TIA-942); ability to coordinate with cabling contractors
  • Working knowledge of wireless security standards: WPA3, 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP methods, certificate-based authentication
  • Experience reading and interpreting network drawings, floor plans, and as-built documentation
  • Comfortable operating independently in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with minimal supervision
  • Clean driving record
  • Relevant certifications strongly preferred: CWNA, CWDP, CWAP, Cisco CCNP Wireless

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 10 to 15 Years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree with Network Engineering or Related field of study required.
  • Other Education / Certifications: - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Data Center, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Enterprise Wireless, CCIE Collaboration, Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE), F5 (or other load balancer) Certified Solution Expert, SNIA Storage Networking Certificate.
  • Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Able to negotiate skillfully, promote/sell ideas persuasively, and close transactions with mutually beneficial results.
  • Possesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.

  • Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
  • Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others.
  • Able to exhibit ability to be sensitive to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others.
  • Able to quickly learn new systems and technology.
  • Able to use relevant computer system applications at an advanced level.
