Information Systems Technology Services is a unified organization made up of collaborative departments that deliver high-quality technology solutions in support of PG&E’s business priorities.

The Office of the CIO (OCIO) provides the cross-functional Technology & Security management capabilities needed to run the business of Technology & Security effectively. OCIO supports the organization’s operating model by promoting a consistent, transparent, and efficient approach to delivering value to partners. The OCIO is organized around four areas that are essential to long-term success: Third Party Strategy & Operations, People Strategy, Strategic Portfolio Operational Excellence, and Investment & Regulatory Management.

Position Summary

The Business Analyst will conduct research, analyze data, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and prepare reporting that informs business decisions, strategy, and operations. You will contribute to business process improvement, quality control, and operational initiatives, while supporting performance assessment, process re-engineering, change management, communications, and training efforts.

This is a hybrid role working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office every Wednesday. Additional on-site days may be required based on business needs or company requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex data models and develop customized reports, dashboards, and insights to support business needs.
  • Manage small to mid-size projects, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Develop, track, and interpret metrics to identify trends and recommendations related to business strategy and operations.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support studies and analyses related to Technology & Security operations, resource allocation, financial reviews, and program performance.
  • Evaluate programs and work plans to help ensure goals, timelines, and business objectives remain on track.
  • Assist with preparation of annual business plans for assigned Technology & Security functional areas.
  • Coordinate contract and resource management efforts and provide recommendations based on analysis.
  • Maintain annual capital and expense budgets using appropriate accounting and budgeting controls.
  • Enter financial data into tracking systems and prepare regular and ad hoc financial status reports.
  • Support additional activities as needed, including operations and maintenance support, application testing, and scope presentations.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a job-related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of job-related experience

Desired:

  • Strong understanding of business operations and organizational processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience creating pivot tables.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience conducting business analysis, research, and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of analytical methods, approaches, and tactics.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization software.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint of the range. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
