About this role
As our Java Backend Developer, you’ll be part of a talented Scrum team working to give partner restaurants access to Scoober – our dedicated delivery fleet.
That means improving and optimizing our logistics backend to ensure our logistics operation runs smoothly, from Israel to Portugal!
* Please note that this position is located in Berlin (3 days a week from our Berlin office and 2 days working from home) and that you also need to be located in Berlin or direct vicinity to be considered
These are some of the key components to the position:
- Build systems and algorithms used by drivers across our markets
- Work with important logistical challenges: e.g. – routing, optimizations, simulation, etc.
- Help improve development practices in our backend community
- Boost your expertise in key topics like Continuous Integration, Microservices, DDD, Event-Driven Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, Message-driven and event-driven APIs, and RESTful APIs
- Collaborate with team members through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions
What will you bring to the team?
- Strong experience as a Java Developer
- Experience writing Microservices
- Familiar with Spring, Kafka or similar and SQL/NoSQL
- Clean Code matters for you
- An interest in Reactive Programming, Domain-Driven Design, Hexagonal Architecture, and Message-driven and event-driven APIs
- Basic knowledge of continuous deployment using Kubernetes or similar platforms
- Strong interest in algorithms and optimization techniques
- Enjoy collaborating in a team environment
