Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Cybersecurity Trainee to join our Cybersecurity Engineering team.

 

In this role, you will work alongside senior experts to support the delivery of cybersecurity services and projects across multiple client sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain real-world exposure to technical audits, governance, cloud security, and incident response. 

 

  • Assist senior engineers in technical cybersecurity audits, assessments, and vulnerability analyses.
  • Support the implementation, optimization, and monitoring of security controls (SIEM, EDR/XDR, Firewalls).
  • Participate in incident response exercises, risk management, and alert triage.
  • Help align clients' security posture with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
  • Support the creation of technical reports, remediation plans, and security awareness content.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (recent graduates).

Academic background, personal projects, or hands-on lab experience in IT/Cybersecurity.

Foundational understanding of at least 2-3 of the following areas:

  • Network security & operating systems (Linux/Windows).
  • Vulnerability analysis or basics of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM) or security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Fluency in Portuguese and strong proficiency in English.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on exposure through labs, CTFs, or platforms like TryHackMe / Hack The Box.
  • Scripting skills for automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Basic understanding of security automation or AI applications in cybersecurity.

 

Additional information:

  • Must be up to 35 years old
  • Cannot have previously completed a higher education (bachelor's degree) IEFP internship
  • Must be registered as actively unemployed with the IEFP (doing so upon selection is sufficient)
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science (a degree certificate is strictly required)
