Senior DevOps Engineer (Media and Advertising Industry)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Our client is a leading media-technology company offering a unified platform that powers the full advertising lifecycle for TV, radio, and digital publishers.

The DevOps Team is looking for a talented Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to help design, build, and maintain our internal developer platform. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in developing and continuously improving the services and infrastructure that power our engineering teams. You’ll enable self-service, automation, and streamlined workflows that enhance the software development lifecycle, boost developer productivity, and support the scalability and reliability of our products. This role collaborates closely with development, security, and operations teams to drive forward our platform vision.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

• Design, develop, and maintain core platform components and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).

• Build and operate self-service tools and workflows for application deployment, monitoring, logging, and scaling.

• Implement and manage containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that are efficient, secure, and scalable.

• Implement and enforce platform security best practices and integrate security tools into the platform.

• Design and implement robust monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for the platform.

• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues, collaborating with development teams as needed.

• Contribute to the definition and evolution of our platform architecture and roadmap.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in platform engineering and cloud-native development.

• Work effectively under pressure and balance competing tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

• Participate in on-call rotation during day PST hours.

IF YOU ARE

• Strong experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).

• Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP or AWS preferred).

• Strong understanding of operating systems and related ecosystem components (networking, storage, databases, etc.).

• Experience with Terraform, Packer, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Helm.

• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus, Jenkins).

• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Bash, Python, Go, Perl, Ruby).

• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

• Containerization experience required; serverless technologies are a plus.

• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Datadog).

• Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.

• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.

• Experience with GitOps principles is preferred.

• Strong collaboration, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills.

• Ability to work independently, be resourceful, and seek support when needed.
