Wold Architects and Engineers seeking a highly analytical, tech-forward Senior Financial Analyst to join our corporate finance team in Minneapolis, reporting directly to our CFO. This role operates directly within our private equity-backed professional services company. You will lead our Vena Corporate Performance Management (CPM) system administration, manage complex forecasting models, integrate newly acquired entities, and deliver strategic reporting to our executive team, private equity sponsors, and lenders.

We are looking for a true self-starter – someone who thrives with high autonomy, takes end-to-end ownership, and proactively leverages AI tools to streamline workflows.

Core Responsibilities

  • Vena Administration and FP&A AI leader: Serve as the primary functional administrator for Vena—managing system architecture, template logic, data hierarchies, and AI applications and capabilities.
  • M&A Integration & Data Pipelines: Lead the financial integration of newly acquired entities; extract, transform, and audit raw operational data from PSA platforms and NetSuite into clean, actionable finance pipelines.
  • Ad-Hoc & New Reporting: Design, build, and automate custom management dashboards and financial reports within Vena and/or from NetSuite using AI/automated tools to support rapid executive decision-making.
  • Forecasting & Cash: Own both the rolling three-statement financial forecast and the tactical rolling 13-week cash flow model for short-term liquidity tracking and to drive long-term profitability and debt-service capacity.
  • Budgeting & Department Planning: Partner directly with department heads to build, consolidate, and monitor departmental budgets and the total company budget including addbacks.
  • Integrated Allocation Modeling: Own and embed complex professional services expense allocation logic directly into the automated annual budget and rolling forecast processes within Vena and across all reporting.
  • Strategic Plan (Strap) Modeling: Maintain and update the multi-year Strategic Plan (Strap) financial model to reflect long-term growth, utilization targets, and capital structures.
  • Earn-Out Tracking & Reporting: Own the standalone reporting, tracking, and metric calculation for post-acquisition earn-out structures to ensure precise calculation of performance-based payouts.
  • Sponsor & Lender Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages, EBITDA bridges, and covenant compliance certificates for presentation to our private equity investors and banking/debt partners.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in corporate FP&A, ideally within a private equity-backed portfolio company, billable professional services firm, and/or high-growth environment.
  • Systems & Data Expertise: Hands-on experience administering CPM systems (including building templates and data structures) paired with a proven ability to extract and synthesize data from PSA platforms and ERP systems.
  • AI & Technical Savvy: Practical experience utilizing AI tools/agents to accelerate data extraction, model building, and reporting.
  • Project Accounting Expertise: Strong foundational understanding of project-based accounting principles, including tracking revenue recognition rules (e.g., Time & Materials, Fixed Fee/Milestones), monitoring project gross margins, and managing work-in-progress (WIP).
  • Financial Modeling: Expert-level mastery of Excel-based modeling (Vena's core engine), three-statement financial modeling, debt/covenant tracking, and M&A integration formulas.
  • Business Acuity: Deep understanding of professional services operational metrics (e.g., utilization, billable rates, backlog, realization), Adjusted EBITDA definitions, and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Self-Starter Mindset: Proven ability to work independently, proactively troubleshoot complex data issues, and establish scalable processes with minimal guidance. Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related analytical field.
