Job DetailsJob Location: Administration - Hybrid Remote - Seattle, WA 98121Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $27.50 - $41.20 HourlyJob Category: BankingPOSITION DESCRIPTION The Financial Accounting Analyst supports a variety of accounting functions including preparation, posting, and review of general ledger entries, monitoring and reconciliation of general ledger to subsidiary accounting systems, general ledger variance analysis, and accounts payable. The Financial Accounting Analyst needs to exercise good personal judgment and possess the ability to work autonomously. This is a part-time position that will average 25-30 hours per week. You must be able to report to our Administration office in Seattle for the initial training period and then on an as needed basis. This position is eligible for medical benefits. Starting pay will not exceed $31.25/hour. QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting and 1-3 years of related work experience is required. The Financial Accounting Analyst must be detail-oriented with knowledge of (GAAP) accounting procedures, and strong reconciliation and variance analysis aptitude. A solid understanding of general ledger and subsidiary accounting systems is essential. Skill competencies required include, but are not limited to: Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills. Must possess the ability to work with others in order to resolve complex accounting issues. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to meet tight deadlines. Hands-on, energetic, organized, team player with proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and facilitate change, multitask effectively and work independently. Ability to prioritize projects, quickly determine the requirements to accomplish them, and analyze the processes to figure out how to simplify, automate, and improve them for increased efficiency. Must possess sound judgment, good decision making ability, and a high level of decision quality, problem solving and analytical abilities. High attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.), proficient with General Ledger systems, and willingness to learn other software as needed. Banking experience is strongly preferred. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Duties may include but not limited to the following Responsibility #1 Daily Activity Perform daily loan GL to subsidiary reconciliation Perform daily loan control reconciliation, including working with Lending Operations to resolve reconciling items Responsibility #2 Annual, Quarterly, and Monthly Close Analyze accounts and prepare journal entries using auditable documentation. Responsible for several Loan Accounting entries and income statement line items. Support the monthly closing of the General Ledger, including the completion of the fluctuation analysis. Work with other accountants and groups to ensure that all accounts are reconciled in a timely manner. Conduct complex general ledger account reconciliations. Responsibility #3 Accounts Payable Process vendor payables in compliance with policies and procedures ensuring accurate data entry, voucher balancing, and verification of check or ACH distribution amounts. Identify and capitalize fixed assets and prepaid expenses in accordance with GAAP and company capitalization thresholds. Perform quarterly 15-day lookback to ensure no material expense recognition was incurred in a subsequent period. Perform annual 1099 reporting. Responsibility #4 Internal Controls and Efficiency Maintain processes and internal controls for responsible areas/applications to ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures, recordkeeping, and reporting. Oversee the development and updating of desktop procedures and processes for responsible areas. Contribute to the efficiency of the Accounting Operations Department by participating in cross training and sharing job responsibilities. Responsibility #5 ALM, Board and Other Reporting Works with external tax accountants for annual requests. Support the preparation of certain SEC footnotes and disclosures. Prepare certain Board Reports. Support preparation of the Asset Liability Management Committee packet. Perform other ad-hoc reporting as requested by Senior Management, the Financial Reporting Manager, and other departments Provide support or act as Accounting Lead in enterprise-wide initiatives and assist in other special projects, including system enhancements or upgrades for Accounting Department, merger and acquisition related activities, and new products.
