About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer in Technology as part of Commercial Corporate & Investment Bank Technology (CCIBT) engineering and transformation office.  Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

The Lead Engineer will support Money Transfer System applications (Domestic and International). As a part of the support, the team member is expected to provide day to day support / operational activities related to Payment Broker , EMTS and GMTS. This includes alert handling, taking care of the incidents, handling start of day / end of day activities, Service requests, Changes and Problem management.  

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2 years of application support experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Wire processing experience
  • Automation and Scripting experience with Shell and/or Python
  • Experience in supporting zlinux & broker applications
  • Experience in automation using any of scripting (shell/Perl/Python).
  • Experience in IBM MQ Series,
  • Experience in ITIL processes (Change, Incident and Problem Management) for Application Support

Job Expectations:

  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide leadership during major production incidents.
  • Position will require onsite presence at one of the posted location
