With a variety of roles and responsibilities these teams really connect the dots, giving us the essential insights, support and capability to accelerate our transformation to be the world’s edge to cloud company. Join us redefine what’s next for you.

We are seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer to strengthen the security of our applications, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and AI/agentic systems. This role combines established AppSec practices with specialized defensive strategies for generative AI and autonomous agents, partnering with engineering, architecture, and DevOps teams to embed security into the SDLC, implement and optimize WAF/API protections, harden the software supply chain, and guide the secure development across the enterprise.

The role defines and implements a security framework aligned with OWASP Top 10 for LLMs and MITRE ATLAS, focuses on agentic security and MCP server integrity, and uses continuous adversarial testing and threat modeling to identify risks

This position is ideal for a hands-on security professional with deep technical expertise in application, API, DevSecOps, and AI/LLM security, and the ability to influence engineering teams in a large enterprise environment.

What you'll do:

Secure Software Development Lifecycle

  • Integrate security practices throughout the SDLC in partnership with engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Promote secure coding standards, tooling, and automation; mentor engineering teams on secure coding and secure pipeline practices.
  • Perform secure code reviews and expand automated security testing coverage across pipelines and deployed services.
  • Support the Security Champions program.
  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls within CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Ensure software integrity through code signing, artifact validation, provenance, and SBOM generation.
  • Automate SAST, DAST, SCA, and container image scanning in build and release pipelines.
  • Identify and remediate misconfigurations, secrets exposure, and access control gaps across pipeline environments.
  • Expand security automation around API discovery, dependency/SCA scanning, SBOM generation, and secrets detection.
  • Triage, prioritize, and track vulnerabilities across source code, CI/CD pipelines, and deployed services.
  • Facilitate threat modeling for applications, APIs, delivery pipelines, and AI-driven features.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to product, platform engineering, and DevOps teams, translating technical risk into business impact.
  • Partner with SOC/IR teams during software supply chain, pipeline, or AI-related security incidents.

Web Application Security

  • Design, deploy, and tune WAF rules and API security protections.
  • Conduct API risk assessments and promote secure API design patterns.

AI / LLM / Agentic Security

  • Establish secure authentication, authorization, and audit protocols for AI communication frameworks (e.g., MCP).
  • Automate AI-specific vulnerability scanning in CI/CD to catch insecure LLM orchestration patterns and verify model provenance across the ML/software supply chain.
  • Leverage AI-powered security tools to identify anomalies, code risks, and pipeline misconfigurations.

What you need to bring:

Required

  • 8-10+ years in Application Security, Product Security, or Secure Software Development
  • Hands-on experience securing CI/CD pipelines and source repositories (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience securing LLMs, AI agents, and MCP servers; familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and MITRE ATLAS.
  • Knowledge of software supply chain security frameworks (SLSA, NIST SSDF), including build integrity, artifact signing (Sigstore, Cosign), and secrets management.
  • Strong background in WAF tuning, API security, and vulnerability identification/remediation.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript/Node.js).
  • Experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning tools.
  • Cloud security experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 (Web & API), CWE, and secure coding practices.

Preferred

  • Experience integrating SBOM generation and SCA into CI/CD workflows.
  • Knowledge of runtime protection/detection tools (API security platforms, RASP, container EDR).
  • Experience with GitOps, infrastructure-as-code scanning (Terraform, CloudFormation), and policy-as-code.
  • Relevant certifications: OSWE, CSSLP, GPCS, GWEB, GCSA.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence developers, DevOps engineers, and leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an automation-first mindset.
  • Collaborative and outcome-oriented, able to balance security with delivery velocity
