Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (3-6 years’ experience) with strong expertise in Android Auto and Android Automotive OS (AAOS) development for infotainment platforms. In this role, you will contribute to the development of system-level and application-level features that enable seamless in-vehicle experiences across connectivity, media, navigation, and projection systems.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality automotive software solutions while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and performance-driven engineering culture environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop Android Auto and Android Automotive OS (AAOS) features for automotive infotainment platforms.

2. Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, and C/C++ with solid understanding of object-oriented design and system-level programming.

3. Strong understanding of Android core components including Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers within AOSP/AAOS-based infotainment systems.

4. Hands-on experience with Android IPC mechanisms including AIDL, Binder framework, Binder transactions, and inter-process communication architecture for system-level services.

5. Experience working with Android Auto projection architecture, media frameworks, and in-vehicle infotainment integrations.

6. Good understanding of Android Automotive system architecture including: * Car Service and Car APIs * Vehicle HAL (VHAL) * System UI and framework customization * Multi-user and driver distraction guidelines * Automotive-specific app integration and lifecycle management

7. Experience with Android certification and compliance activities including: * Executing PCTS (Partner Compatibility Test Suite) test cases * Working with Google certification and validation processes

8. Experience analyzing GAL monitor logs and troubleshooting Android Auto connectivity, projection, and performance-related issues.

9. Strong debugging and log analysis skills including:

10. Android Logcat analysis * ANR trace and tombstone analysis * System trace, Systrace, and Perfetto analysis * Kernel logs (dmesg) and boot sequence debugging * Memory, CPU, latency, and performance analysis * Root cause analysis for framework and system-level issues

11. Experience working with embedded Android systems, platform bring-up, middleware integration, and infotainment feature validation.

12. Familiarity with automotive software development, lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration in automotive environments.

13. Ability to work independently, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to high-quality software delivery in fast-paced automotive projects.

Mandatory Skill:

1. Programming Skills : Kotlin, Java, C++

2. Experience with Android Auto, including API integration and application development.

3. Experience with debugging and troubleshooting tools, such as logcat, Android Studio Profiler.

4. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred skill:

1. Knowledge of Bluetooth, USB, Wifi and other automotive connectivity protocols.

2. Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git or SVN. 3. Minimum 1 complete AA certification experience
