Basic Function:

Responsible for overseeing the administration, management and maintenance of computer network systems and data circuits. Responsible for installs, upgrades and monitoring network performance. Develops and documents system standards for computer and network devices. Responsible for recommending and scheduling repairs to the LAN/WAN.

Essential Job Duties:

Uses network analysis tools to help troubleshoot network performance problems. Perform administrator tasks for the team. Understand, explain, and assist with adherence of internal policy as it pertains to the group and user/customer base. Maintain software license compliance and adhere to company policies and manage Microsoft Active Directory user permissions. Perform light programming/scripting to automate tasks, analyze system logs to identify potential issues. Responsible for administration, setup, and ongoing configuration of networking systems and equipment to include servers, routers/switches, firewalls, wireless AP’s and SDWAN. Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all systems & network hardware/software, and communication links. Ensure stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, and wireless network services by continually monitoring systems with various networking tools. Troubleshoot network issues with other team members within the IT department and with vendors. Document changes within the scope of the network & systems. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Prior experience supporting, implementing and/or administering networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory. Network Performance Monitoring. Extensive WAN/LAN Knowledge. Network Design and Implementation. Quality Focus. Coordination. Extensive methods and techniques used in trouble shooting various hardware and software application problems. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Must be able to protect confidential information and projects. Dependability. Accountability. Ability to work in a fast paced, environment; with the ability to adapt and change priorities as the business needs change.

Education and Experience:

Extensive hardware and software knowledge and hands on experience to perform the responsibilities of this position. Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field, or 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT.
